Just before the all important May General Election the Reality Party are hosting live events in Ramsgate to encourage people to get out and VOTE on Thursday 7th May.

VOTE is about reminding people that their vote can make a difference. In Thanet, people have become so disillusioned with local and national government that less than 65% voted in the last general election. One of the Reality Party's main aims is to get more people engaged in the electoral process and to put a cross on the ballot paper - even if it isn't for them!!

The local race for MP in Thanet this year has become a high profile affair with UKIP leader Nigel Farage, Al Murray aka Pub Landlord and of course Reality’s own candidate and real local pub landlord Nigel Askew all standing in what looks like a hotly contested seat.

The VOTE events will feature an exciting and eclectic bill of musicians and DJs in one of the town’s oldest and biggest halls!

What we would like to put on for the Ramsgate locals is an event for them…

MAY DAY NIGHT - FRIDAY MAY 1ST______________________

LOIS & THE LOVE devote themselves to a unique crossbreed of synth-shot grunge and razor sharp pop.

Summer 2014 saw Lois Winstone, (daughter of Ray Winstone) Dean Sharp, Oli Longmore and Eddie Banda at the grindstone, working on debut album Love is Louder. Radio-salivating hooks ping out of the LP and 2015 looks set to be a year in which they surf a long overdue re-emergence of guitar bands in the mainstream   LIVE

SHARONDEEP Indian punk. Brought up on a council estate in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, Sharondeep had itchy feet to get the next one way mega bus ticket out into the big wide world. Mainly influenced by The Prodigy and Joy division, Sharondeep has created a bold, non-apologetic, indian industrial sound which is waiting to get you raving.  LIVE

PHOBOPHOBES.  South London has been on fine form of late, producing a diverse range of some of the country’s most exciting new talent. Phobophobes are amongst the latest of these acts, ready to emerge with brand new material after time spent hidden away; locked in their self built Peckham studio. If you’ve been lucky enough to catch them on their fleeting appearances from the darkness, no doubt it was at one of the Capital’s dingy, raucous venues - at which they’re becoming a much talked about feature.    LIVE

BROKEN HANDS - Flight. It’s a human obsession: flight as escape, flight as transcendence, as the ultimate transgression from earth’ gravitational pull. It’s certainly an obsession with aeronautic rock outfit Broken Hands, whose debut album Turbulence is a soaring conceptual work about flight in its many forms. Literal flight, yes, but internal forms of flight too – from life, mediocrity, normality. Flight as a means to escape mind and body. Flight towards the sky, the universe... towards greatness. LIVE

FUOCO.  Sittingbourne via Brighton freaklings, Fuoco provide an unsettling but satisfying take on twisted, grunge infested freakbeatery that belies their tender and virginal loins. Taking cues from Slaves, Drenge, Kagoule and Hall and Oates, they are dirty and salivating and waiting in the wings of greatness. LIVE.

SAM SIMMONS -  'has a gentle and captivating performing style. His vivid painting of growing up and living in a seaside town makes you proud to live on the isle' SPOKEN WORD.

RAY GUN Channeling a Riot Grrrl pop sensibility through a Shellac/Big Black filter, Ray Gun are definitely for fans of Pixies, Alvvays, Karen O and Bikini Kill.  Ray Gun pour woozy, fuzz fuelled guitars over lilting melodies, playful vocals and riffs you can get your teeth into. The four piece (two girls, two boys: Jess, Paula, Eoin & Harry) met at the Tom Thumb Theatre, the venue at the heart of Margate’s DIY scene LIVE.

INEVITABLE DAYDREAM.  A group of like-minded individuals who conduct sonic hell.  LIVE.

'FORT ROAD YARD' - A short documentary about life in Margate Old Town. This film features events of the summer just past such as: Thanet Cycle Ship's: 'Thursday Night Bike Ride' .  FILM SCREENING.
